Galaxy Quest is a 1999 science fiction comedy that cleverly parodies the tropes of classic space operas, particularly the Star Trek franchise. The film follows the cast of a canceled television series, “Galaxy Quest,” who are inadvertently drawn into a real interstellar conflict when a group of genuine aliens, believing the show’s episodes to be documentary footage, seek their help to save their civilization from a tyrannical warlord.
